This interactive installation is a metaphorical history of the electronic age
through a series of impressions, tableaux, and monologues of informed commentary. At a touch
screen, interactors select segments from different physical and metaphoric points of view moving
back & forth
in time from the 'big bang' and the development of the camera obscura to the seminal figures
of the electronic era- Edison, Tesla, and Marconi.
These chapters link from the story of a young boy who falls into a well and the irony presented
by the live TV coverage of the event while an entire country is virtually helpless during the
futile rescue attempt. The installation explores a number of universal themes: myths of falling
(Icarus) and the underworld (Orpheus); stories of Mother Earth and emergence, rebirth, and resurrection.
