Peter d'Agostino: between earth & sky : MX (2005 –07)
is a suite
of ten new works centering on Mexico City and its surroundings,
extending to the east and west coasts and the U.S. border. This
series of installations continues a cycle of work initially inspired by
The Other Mexico: Critique of the Pyramid, Octavio Paz's historical,
cultural and philosophical writings, which accompanied me on my
first visit to Mexico in 1975. To further contextualize this project
other works in this Laboratorio Arte Alameda exhibition include:
The Walks Series (1973-74), (1974-75), pond / pass / peak,
kiva / temple / pyramid and Cordoban Ceilings (2003).
